As I wrote yesterday, I would write down scoring later. Well here I am back to show you some basic scoring. As I said before I.D.P. is the way to go once you start playing this type of format. There is catch though to make it appealing.
You need to make the defensive players points more then what a team defense gets. Example most leagues that use team defense give out 2 points for a Sack, Interception, and Fumble Recoveries. This where most people lose interest in I.D.P. format because league commissioners make those same stats worth the same amount of points. If you think about it the individual is getting credit for the stat now so why would you make it the same as the team.
So as I was creating my own league one of my good friends pointed that out to me as I was setting up scoring and I was like that makes huge sense. So I decided to up the points for Sacks, Interceptions, Fumble Recoveries, and Safeties(touchdowns are worth 6 regardless) for I.D.P.s. Sacks, Interceptions, and Fumble Recoveries were now double, 4 pts and Safeties are 10 points(usually team defense gets 5), see how more interesting I.D.P.s can be.
You now have other stats to make available for your players, as i mentioned in my first blog; Solo Tackles, Forced Fumbles, Pass Defenses, and 1/2 sacks. The Forced Fumble and Pass defense do not normally give the ball back to the offense so we make these 2 points(half of a turnover). The 1/2 sack is self-explanatory and worth 2 points. Solo Tackles are worth 1 point.
This scoring I feel makes the I.D.P. more important and makes playing way more fun, in my opinion. You can have a guy; for example, Cameron Wake when he played last year on Halloween he had his statline read like this. He had 5 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and one safety which totaled out to be 33 points, huge help for your fantasy team.
I hope this all makes sense and you can see now how fun I.D.P.'s can be!!!!

So I create this blog for two reasons; one, it was a school assignment and two, playing fantasy football there is not a lot of help (opinions) in picking defensive players, if a person is in a I.D.P. league. I started playing in a I.D.P. league about 7 years ago. At first i was skeptical about it but once I started playing i feel, now, it is the only way to play. It adds a whole new dimension to fantasy football.
Playing I.D.P. allows you to draft defensive players individually instead of the normal team defense. You can set your lineups to have as many defensive players you want( my league uses 5). Defensive players score by getting sacks, interceptions, fumble recoveries, defensive touchdowns, and safeties, like team defenses. Now when using an I.D.P. he can score in other ways as well, 1/2 sacks, pass defenses, tackles and forced fumbles these are not included, normally, in team defense scoring.
I started up my own I.D.P. league 5 seasons ago, will be going into my sixth this year, and i feel i have a pretty good scoring system for defensive players to go by. You can use this system if you like or create your own. There isn't a basic scoring platform for I.D.P.'s but should be, so we will use mine.
First, before telling you the scoring let me tell you how to draft for defensive players. They way you draft is for Defensive Lineman(Defensive Ends And Defensive Tackles), Linebackers, and Defensive Backs( Safeties and Cornerbacks). This is pretty basic, if you want to draft more in depth you can, this way is easier.
Here is how I score my league for defensive players.........(will be up later)
